Maxim Healthcare Services Expands Compliance Program
Enhanced compliance infrastructure/model provides stronger emphasis
on training, monitoring, and support
COLUMBIA, Md. – April 13, 2011 – Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., an established provider of home healthcare, medical staffing, and wellness services, announced it has implemented comprehensive changes to its compliance program to support the delivery of ethically-based, quality patient care that is consistent with federal and state regulations.
“At Maxim, we believe a strong compliance program is critical to maintaining the quality of care and services we provide to our patients and clients,” said Brad Bennett, Chief Executive Officer of Maxim Healthcare Services. “By strengthening our compliance infrastructure and requiring new compliance training of employees, we are making compliance a more integral part of our culture while raising our standard of care.”
Since 2009, Maxim has more than doubled the size of its Compliance Department by adding senior-level leadership with clinical expertise and aligning resources to support the company’s regional operations. Maxim has also enhanced its internal monitoring capabilities, introduced a new auditing program, and added a confidential disclosure hotline administered by an independent third party. All Maxim employees are now required to complete compliance training that aligns with federal, state, and program requirements.
Recently, Maxim revised its clinical standards and invested in new technology and systems to support the delivery of quality patient care. The changes are part of a restructuring that began in 2009 with the appointment of new senior leadership. In addition to Bennett’s appointment as CEO, the company expanded its senior management team to include a Chief Medical and Quality Officer, a Chief Clinical Officer, and a Chief Compliance Officer.

In addition to its expanded compliance program, Maxim is in the process of aligning its Code of Conduct to encapsulate the company’s new vision, mission, and core values.
