Quality Improvement Initiatives
Maxim knows that when it comes to healthcare, self-evaluation, and accountability are keys to maintaining and improving the quality of patient services. In pursuit of this goal, Maxim has enhanced various programs which allow for continuous monitoring and improvement of the quality services that are delivered.
Homecare Quality Metrics
Maxim’s performance measurement system allows for the objective measurement of the clinical and operational performance of each local office. Defined best practices have been instituted and allow Maxim to measure success – identifying continuous improvement opportunities and aggregating and analyzing the results so that the company and quality committee may take the appropriate action to improve. The system takes advantage of the collective resources of the Clinical and Corporate Operations, Compliance, and Information Systems Departments to improve accountability and company efficiency.
Patient Satisfaction Surveys
Maxim values the opinions of its patients and their families. The company routinely conducts patient satisfaction surveys assessing eight primary areas: Care Provided, Timeliness of Staff, Explanation of Services, Consistency of Staff, Planning of Care, Training/Education, Response Time, and Supervision. Maxim’s goal of continuous growth and improvement requires the company to look at all levels of service and consistently strive to increase satisfaction ratings.
Commitment to Clinical Compliance
Maxim knows that accountability and quality improvement go hand-in-hand. An independent team of full-time clinical compliance specialists reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer. The team conducts internal audits of Maxim’s offices and unscheduled local office and patient assessments to verify that the offices are performing their duties as Maxim expects.
Revision of Policies, Clinical Pathways, & Protocols
Maxim is building on its accreditation by the ACHC and its membership in the National Association for Homecare & Hospice (NAHC) with the goal of raising the standard of care in the homecare industry and improving the quality of health for patients. Maxim’s goal is to implement clinical pathways that will assist the clinical team in designing evidence-based care plans individualized to the patients needs. These processes will include diagnosis-based pathways with clear goals and objectives to aid clinical staff in care delivery.
