Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Teacher for the Visually Impaired that provides students with appropriate learning experiences and activities designed to help them in social, intellectual, and emotional growth. They organize and implement an instructional program for visually impaired students. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function in a successful and positive manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans
  • Prepare lessons that accommodate learning styles
  • Prepare, implement, and evaluate an educational plan for each student based on individually assessed needs
  • Assist in the selection of instructional materials and equipment
  • Assess student learning styles and use results to plan educational activities
  • Conduct assessments of student progress and achievement using testing methodology
  • Compile reports, records, and documents as required
  • Conduct conferences with parents, teachers, students, and other School District staff
  • Work in coordination with other teachers in planning and developing the program
  • Complete progress reports on each student
  • Follow School District policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university preferred
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
  • Experience in classroom/school setting preferred
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
