As a trusted nationwide provider of compassionate healthcare services, part of our mission is to empower the communities in which we work. In addition to providing hourly in-home care, we dedicate continued time and resources to delivering contracted 1:1 nursing and other nursing services in schools across the country.
Working with a Maxim caregiver in the school
Our caregivers work in the school as contracted school nurses, following the student’s course of care from school to home. We can provide staff to support a variety of different scenarios. Our flexible nursing solutions are designed to meet the needs of the students we serve. In some instances, a Maxim caregiver may be able to provide care to more than one student. Our in-person training and competency programs allow Maxim nurses to learn new skills and refine existing ones.
We provide continuous care for children with varying compelx needs and diagnoses, including:
- G-tube feeding
- Tracheostomy care
- Ventilator management
- Cerebral palsy
- Chromosomal anomalies
- Muscular dystrophy
- Respiratory failure
- Type 1 diabetes
- Seizure disorders
- Developmental delays
Educational nursing services
1:1 hourly nursing
We provide focused 1:1 support for students who require specialized care.
Nurse bus runs
Our nurse bus runs promote independence and safe transportation for students with medical needs.
Classroom nurses
Maintain a conducive learning environment with the support of a dedicated classroom nurse.
Intermittent nursing
For students who have a specific nursing need during school hours, such as insulin administration.
School building nurses
We offer substitute or contracted staff to support school buildings.
Other program nurses
For students who require other school-related nursing needs, including during field trips, afterschool and camps.
Elevated in-school care, the Maxim way
Every child deserves personalized care and attention to help them soar. Maxim’s goal is to help medically fragile students successfully progress through school and prepare for the future in a way that aligns with their healthcare needs. We work with school systems to develop and deliver solutions centered on effective healthcare support and optimal student experience. Our 1:1 school nursing services allow students who receive nursing services at home to also be cared for in school without disrupting the continuity of the patient’s care.
