Arizona Family LHA

Arizona allows a relative that lives with a patient to serve as a paid caregiver. These caregivers are called Licensed Health Aides (LHAs), and family members may obtain their LHA license by completing a free Maxim-provided training and certification program.

Become a family caregiver

Maxim Healthcare now covers certain costs required to get your LHA license in order to work as a caregiver for your loved one.

Get certified

Certification programs cover general coursework and clinical training. In a simulated patient environment, students learn skills that include proper transfer techniques, feeding methods, catheter care, personal hygiene and how to help with other activities of daily living.

Contact your local office to speak with a Maxim representative to determine your eligibility and options.

Compassionate care. Direct from a loved one.

LHAs assist with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care. They are supervised by a registered nurse and help with walking, transfers, bathing, feeding and toileting among other tasks. Caretakers work in collaboration with the patient’s medical team to promote quality care.
