Colorado Parent-as-CNA

No one understands the needs of your loved ones like you do. The “Parent-as-CNA” program is unique to Colorado Medicaid and allows a trained family member to become certified to care for their loved one and earn income as a Maxim employee.

Become a family caregiver

Maxim Healthcare now covers certain costs required to get your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in order to work as a caregiver for your loved one.

Get certified

Certification programs cover general coursework and clinical training. In a simulated patient environment, students learn skills that include proper transfer techniques, feeding methods, catheter care, personal hygiene and how to help with other activities of daily living.

Contact your local office to speak with a Maxim representative to determine your eligibility and options.

Compassionate care. Direct from a loved one.

CNAs assist with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care. They are supervised by a registered nurse and help with walking, transfers, bathing, feeding and toileting among other tasks. Caretakers work in collaboration with the patient’s medical team to promote quality care.
