Maxim Healthcare is pleased to announce that Rochelle Saldana, LPN, is our North Region Caregiver of the Year! The Caregiver of the Year award recognizes nurses, caregivers and behavioral health professionals who embody our values and demonstrate excellence with their patients and communities.
Rochelle works in our Flint, Michigan, office, and has been part of the Maxim team for 15 years, bringing dedication and kindness to every interaction. Her team says her positivity is contagious, and her presence always leaves a lasting impression on them.
Supporting Courtland through every milestone
Throughout her Maxim career, Rochelle has cared for Courtland—who has a tracheostomy and ventilator—with such diligence that he has had no unscheduled hospitalizations. Rochelle also taught his family sign language, encouraged his love of communication and supported him through surgeries, illnesses and countless milestones.
“She found creative solutions to situations to make life more accessible for Courtland and encouraged his physical development by helping to challenge him to get stronger and become more independent,” says Courtland’s mother, Lisa Clark. “She has always helped us feel like anything is possible.”
A partner in education and growth
Rochelle has supported Courtland in school from preschool through his high school graduation, managing his medical needs so he could focus on learning. She stayed by his side on the robotics team, helping him fully participate and enjoy the experience. Her support has helped him connect with peers, explore his interests and grow more confident. She’ll continue with him into college, reflecting the deep trust they’ve built.
Compassion beyond the workday
Rochelle’s compassion extends well beyond her workday. She volunteers actively in her community and church, always ready to help anyone who needs support. Her kindness is genuine, steady and deeply felt by everyone who crosses her path.
Recognition among regional leaders
Rochelle is one of three regional winners selected from hundreds of nominations across the country. One of our regional winners will be chosen as the National Caregiver of the Year at this year’s award ceremony.
