That’s the goal of the Future of Healthcare Scholarship (FHS). The FHS overview
The FHS is an initiative of Maxim’s Charitable Foundation. The program supports students pursuing education and training in healthcare-related fields.
By investing in the development of future healthcare professionals, the program aims to contribute to a stronger, more accessible and innovative healthcare system.
The scholarship supports individuals pursuing careers across the healthcare spectrum. While nurses and caregivers are vital members of the healthcare workforce, the FHS is open to students pursuing education and training in a wide range of healthcare-related professions and industries.
Eligibility
This award is designed to support and empower students pursuing education and training in healthcare-related fields. The scholarship is open to U.S. residents who are at various stages of their educational and professional journey, including:
- Recent high school graduates
- Current college students pursuing any field of study with the intent of pursuing a career in the healthcare industry
- Non-traditional students returning to school
Scholarship Awards
The following scholarships are awarded annually:
- Two (2) scholarships of $10,000 each
- Eight (8) scholarships of $3,000 each
Application Timeline
The FHS application period is open from September 1, 2026, through December 21, 2026.
How previous recipients are making a difference
“The purpose of life is serving others, and this scholarship is helping me turn that purpose into a lifelong career,” says Bre Morris, a 2024 scholarship recipient. “After unexpectedly losing my father last December, I found even greater motivation to pursue nursing, inspired by the compassionate medical professionals who cared for him during his illness. Their kindness showed me the difference healthcare workers can make, and I hope to honor his memory by providing the same comfort, support and care to pediatric patients and families in need.”
“Receiving this scholarship allows me to continue pursuing my passion for biomedical engineering and creating innovative technologies that improve healthcare outcomes and quality of life,” says Rachnie Iv, a 2024 scholarship recipient. “As a second-generation American and the first in my family to pursue a career in healthcare, this support helps alleviate the financial strain of my education while I work on projects like Mixed Reality Rehabilitation, a virtual reality platform designed to help stroke patients recover mobility and independence. Seeing this project receive IRB approval to pilot with patients reinforced my commitment to developing solutions that make rehabilitation more engaging, effective and accessible for those who need it most.”
