Jaime Guzman, LPN has been working as a nurse for Maxim Healthcare Services for 16 years and this year he has been chosen as the 2022 South Region Caregiver of the Year! The Caregiver of the Year award recognizes nurses, caregivers and behavioral health professionals who embody our values and demonstrate excellence with their patients and communities. Jaime’s continued dedication and passion throughout his Maxim tenure embodies what it means to be a recipient of this award.

“Dependable,” “reliable” and “trustworthy” are just a few words to describe Jaime as a Maxim LPN.

Currently, Jaime is responsible for caring for one of the Daytona Beach office’s highest acuity patients, Camilo. Jaime has been serving as Camilo’s primary nurse for over 10 years and has been able to watch him grow through life. Having been affectionately referred to as a “bonded pair” by Lori Piper, Clinical Manager II, Jaime and Camilo share a special connection. He treats Camilo with respect and compassion and involves him in the steps of his care.

When it came time for Camilo to receive his high school diploma, his family asked Jaime to do the honor of escorting him across the stage. This filled Jaime with personal and professional pride and exemplifies his dedication to his role as Camilo’s nurse.

Jaime has also been instrumental in training his office’s Novice Nurses. Lori shared, “His teachings have allowed us to send more quality and qualified nurses into our various other ventilator homes, allowing them to get the same great care safely.” He was also a driving force behind the testing of new technology that positively affected both nurses and patients.

Jaime is one of four regional winners selected from hundreds of nominations across the country. Watch Jaime’s video to hear more about how he embodies Maxim’s values of passion for our work, servant leadership, serving with integrity and prioritizing quality while caring for Camilo.
