Home health agency addresses significant need with addition of ABA services

RALEIGH, N.C. (May 1, 2023) – Home health agency Maxim Healthcare Services today announced the expansion of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy services in Raleigh, North Carolina. The service line expansion reflects a commitment to caring for more families and children impacted by autism with comprehensive, empathy-focused treatment and addressing a critical gap in available treatment options.

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is therapy based on the science of learning and behavior and is considered medically necessary treatment for people with autism. Maxim Healthcare Services’ intensive ABA therapy program uses evidence-based practices to promote improved learning and academic skills, communication abilities and adaptive behaviors for children with autism. Board certified behavior analysts and behavior technicians provide individualized teaching techniques in natural settings to help patients function as independently as possible and achieve fulfilling and socially connected lives. These services are offered in the patient’s home, school or community centers.

“We know it takes a village to support our families affected by autism, and we are passionate about being key members of their treatment team,” said Greg Riley, Area Vice President of Clinical Operations for Maxim. “Maxim takes pride in our track record of delivering top-rate behavioral health services and we are excited to expand our reach to Raleigh and the eastern North Carolina region. Our highly trained professionals are dedicated to taking an empathetic approach to care, honoring each patient’s needs, values and goals to ensure the best possible outcomes.”

Diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder in American children has risen in recent years, up from one in 44 8-year-olds in 2018 (2.3%) to one in 36 in 2023 (2.8%,) according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In North Carolina specifically, almost two percent of 8-year-olds have autism. Since the ABA therapy program was implemented in 2011, Maxim has helped advance the social, emotional and cognitive development of thousands of children, filling a critical need in autism treatment.

With a strong emphasis on clinical continuing education and quality assurance, Maxim requires all behavior technicians to complete a 40-hour training program that meets the requirements of the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) to become a registered behavior technician.

Maxim’s ABA program is able to serve patients in Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Johnston, Nash, Northampton, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne and Wilson counties.
