Federal workers play a critical role in keeping our nation running. Unfortunately, sometimes that comes with health risks. Maxim Healthcare Services offers a range of home healthcare services to federal workers diagnosed with certain work-related illnesses. With trained nurses and experienced caregivers available around the clock, you can trust us to handle your recovery practically and compassionately. This post will explore the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) and how Maxim provides necessary care in our communities.

Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs

The OWCP administers four major disability compensation programs that provide medical treatment and benefits to certain workers and their dependents who have experienced work-related injuries or occupational diseases. This can include wage replacement benefits, medical treatment, and vocational benefits as needed. Qualified beneficiaries receive a medical benefits card (a.k.a white card) from the OWCP.

Department of Energy

We support current and former employees and their survivors of the Department of Energy or atomic facilities diagnosed with a disease due to exposure to radiation, beryllium or silica while employed at covered facilities under the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation program (DEEOIC).

Special exposure cohort facilities covered by the DEEIOC program are located in the following states and territories:

Maxim provides care to federal and postal workers with employment-related injuries and occupational diseases using the Division of Federal Employees’ Compensation benefits.

Longshore and Harbor Workers

The mission of the Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation program is to minimize the impact of land-based, maritime employment injuries and deaths for injured employees and their families. Maxim provides medical support to these individuals and their families.

Coal Mine Workers’ Compensation

The Division of Coal Mine Workers’ Compensation, or the Federal Black Lung Program, administers claims filed under the Black Lung Benefits Act.
