Home Care for Veterans’ Spouses, Dependents & Family Caregivers

We partner with the Veterans Health Administration’s Office of Community Care and the TRICARE Managed Care Support Contractors to provide extended home healthcare services to dependents and other eligible beneficiaries by accessing programs funded through the VA and TRICARE.  

Services Offered
We provide private duty nursing (skilled, hourly nursing), personal care and custodial services, part-time and intermittent nursing, and therapies through these programs as authorized and available.

  • Ventilator and tracheostomy care
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Seizure management
  • Oxygen management
  • Coordination of home medical equipment and supplies
  • Educating and training family
  • Medication management
  • Personal care (bathing, daily hygiene, etc.)
  • Assistance with instrumental activities of daily living (homemaker services)
  • TPN infusion
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy


Programs Covered
TRICARE’s Home Health Care Benefit: The Home Health Care Benefit provides part-time and intermittent nursing to beneficiaries that do not qualify for skilled care through other TRICARE programs such as the Extended Care Health Option (ECHO) Program.
  
Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA): CHAMPVA is a program in which the VA shares the cost of covered health care services and supplies with eligible beneficiaries. There is no network for individuals that qualify for this program, but Maxim locations are poised to assist beneficiaries with their medical home care needs. Maxim is able to provide private duty nursing (skilled hourly), intermittent nursing, and therapies through this program to eligible beneficiaries.  

Spina Bifida Health Care Benefits Program: The Spina Bifida Program provides healthcare benefits for biological children of a Vietnam-era Veteran who served in Korea, Vietnam or Thailand who have been diagnosed with Spina Bifida. Maxim is able to provide private duty nursing (skilled hourly), intermittent nursing, therapies, personal care, and homemaker services through this program to eligible beneficiaries.  

Camp Lejeune Family Program:
The Camp Lejeune Family Program is for family members of veterans who lived or served at the U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987, and were potentially exposed to drinking water contaminated with industrial solvents, benzene and other chemicals. If eligible, please contact your local Maxim office to discuss the available homecare services.  

Children of Women Vietnam Veterans Health Care Benefits Program: This program provides VA-financed healthcare benefits to women Vietnam veterans’ birth children who the VA has determined to have a covered birth defect. If eligible, please contact your local Maxim office to discuss the available homecare services. We partner with the Veterans Health Administration Office of Community Care to provide extended home healthcare services to dependents and eligible beneficiaries by accessing special programs funded through the VA.
