Vijenti “VJ” Naiker Honored for Life-Enriching Behavioral Care of Young Patient

COLUMBIA, Maryland–  Maxim Healthcare Services (Maxim), a national provider of continuous skilled nursing services and personal and behavioral care, announced today that Vijenti “VJ” Naiker, an intensive behavioral support provider based in Emeryville, has been named a Regional Caregiver of the Year. This honorable recognition is part of Maxim’s Caregiver of the Year Award program, which celebrates nurses, home healthcare aides, and behavioral direct care workers for their impactful contributions to the home healthcare community.

“Our caregivers play a vital role in providing compassionate, holistic care to our patients,” said Maxim’s Chief Executive Officer, Jarrod DePriest. “We care for some of the nation’s most medically fragile patients including those who require behavioral and community support. We are so grateful for VJ’s dedication and the difference she makes every day in the lives of her patients and their families.”

Naiker was selected from among hundreds of nominations across the country for the life-enriching care she provides for her patients. She has spent the last five years working for Maxim, providing intensive behavioral support services for developmentally delayed adolescents and young adults. The intensive behavioral support services Maxim offers is a unique caregiving model, and in this role, Naiker helps her patients with behavioral issues, as well as assisting them with creating routines and while out in the community. Naiker is described by her colleagues and patients’ families as warm and immensely dedicated. Chelsea Lewandowski, Clinical Manager for Maxim said, “Something that makes VJ so incredibly special is her compassion and kindness with her clients.”

Naiker is extremely driven and very appreciative to Maxim for this great honor. “I thank Maxim so much for recognizing me for my hard work,” said Naiker. “I know I’ve been able to bring some real changes into people’s lives, and I look forward to continuing this great work.”

“VJ has helped so many of our patients and given their families a sense of comfort,” said Claire Palmer, Business Development Manager in Maxim’s Emeryville office who nominated VJ. “We all agree that she is one of the best Maxim has to offer, and we can always count on her to deliver compassionate, quality care.”

Naiker will be presented with the award during a special ceremony on April 17, 2024 in Florida. She is also a candidate for Maxim’s John “Doc” Langley National Caregiver of the Year Award, which will be announced that same evening.
