For more than a decade, Maxim Healthcare has been a constant in Launa’s professional life. Since joining the organization in 2012, she has carried the Maxim mission with her across three states and through a wide range of roles—external field nurse, clinical supervisor, clinical operations supervisor, clinical manager and now clinical director. Each step has shaped her perspective, strengthened her commitment to patient‑centered care and deepened her belief in the impact Maxim can have on communities.

Why Maxim matters

When Launa reflects on her journey, she describes Maxim as more than an employer—it has been a professional home. The organization has supported her growth through multiple relocations and transitions, offering opportunities to learn, lead and contribute in meaningful ways. That longevity has created a sense of purpose and connection that continues to motivate her in her current role.

Carrying out the mission

At the heart of her work is a simple guiding principle: keeping patients at the center of every decision. Whether she is supporting clinical teams, collaborating with community partners or planning patient‑focused events, her goal is to create experiences that bring comfort, joy and connection. Seasonal activities are more than celebrations; they are moments that help families feel supported and seen.

What being a clinical director means

To Launa, serving as a clinical director is an opportunity to expand Maxim’s reach and strengthen its impact. She sees the role as a bridge between the organization and the community—one that helps identify new patients, improve access to care and build relationships with nursing schools to support the next generation of clinicians. It’s a position that blends leadership with service, and she embraces both sides of that responsibility.

Why Launa chose this path

The decision to become a clinical director was rooted in her experience with our Nashville, Tennessee office. She speaks highly of the collaborative environment, the mission‑driven culture and the clinical team that inspires her daily. Watching the office grow—and seeing its potential for even greater impact—made the opportunity feel like a natural next step.

Rewards that make the work meaningful

Launa values her partnerships with local children’s specialty care clinics and takes pride in developing new clinical supervisors. Helping them grow into confident leaders — and future Maxim managers — is one of the most rewarding parts of her role.

Looking ahead: a stronger clinical structure

Recently, Launa shared her excitement about a new clinical structure that supports process improvement and strengthens clinical supervisor development. She explains that shortly after stepping into the clinical manager role, her fellow clinical manager left the company, leaving her to lead the clinical team alone for eight months. Managing a large market under those circumstances was challenging, but the team succeeded—and she remains proud of what they accomplished together.

Still, she recognizes that much of that period was spent maintaining operations rather than developing the team. With the addition of a director of clinical operations and two clinical managers, she now sees tremendous potential to invest in training, mentorship and retention.
